The thief in relation to the Lord s return refers to His Second Coming to earth and never the Rapture of the Church (Joel 2:9; Matthew 24:43; 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 4; 2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 16:15). 7. The New Testament Church did not begin until after Christ ascended to the Father, placed His blood upon the mercy seat in Heaven and men were permanently indwelled by God. The Lord purchased the Church and referred to it as the Church OF God expressing possession. 8. The reason for four Gospel book and why John s Gospel record differs so significantly from the three synoptic Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke.
