About the Author

Daniel Bay Gibbons is a full-time writer living in Holladay, Utah, and is the author of seven previous books. A former trial attorney and judge, Dan is a man of many interests. His passions include reading, languages and running. In the Church, Dan has served as a full-time missionary in Germany, an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple, twice as a bishop, and as president of the Russia Novosibirsk Mission from 2011 to 2014. He is married to Julie Glenn Gibbons, and they have five children and five grandchildren.

One of the lowliest figures in Mormon history, Charlie was an eyewitness to most of the pivotal events in Church history in Kirtland, Far West and Nauvoo.
