Since the SMARTROLLER® Guide to Optimal Movement was first published, interest in guided movement practices and the neuroscience behind them has grown tremendously. Today, more people than ever are familiar with Tai Chi, Feldenkrais®, Pilates, yoga, Qi Gong and other somatic disciplines, and researchers worldwide have turned their scientific curiosity to these practices to discover how they benefit people.

While this is great news for Somatic Education, good research takes considerable time, and scientific work competes for public attention with a constant barrage of information on the latest exercise trends and products. Navigating the clutter to find movement choices that work for us as individuals can be a daunting challenge.

This is the challenge the SMARTROLLER Guide to Optimal Movement is meant to address.
