Like all of the forms of dementia, Lewy Body Dementia has some unique characteristics that can be challenging for any caregiver. We have written
this book as a simple guide to help with the "How To's" of engaging your loved one.
 
Whether it is leisure activities or activities of daily living, my mission to make sure that family caregivers are armed with the core knowledge to help them in their daily duties.  This mission was spawned by my family struggle during our 25-year fight with Dad's Parkinson's and dementia.
For our Lewy Body Dementia book, we have accepted the assistance of
Robert D. Brennan, RN, NHA, MS, CDP, and Linda Redhead, MS, ACC/EDU, who have been working in senior care for 60 years combined. The book is written in everyday language with real world examples and common sense suggestions to provide helpful information on engaging, caregiving, and activities of daily living.
We hope you find it useful and encourage you to have other family members and caregivers of your loved one read this in order to be consistent with approaches, verbal cues, physical assistance, and modifications that produce positive results.

Scott's passion for helping caregivers stems from his families struggles in caring for his father who battled Parkinson's disease and dementia for over 25 years, as well as, his own successful battle with cancer. 
Linda Redhead,MS, ACC/EDU  is a certified Activity Professional and Consultant with a specialization in Education and has over 30 years of activity experience in long term care in various settings.  She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration and Art Therapy. and is also a College of New Rochelle graduate with a Master's Degree in Art Therapy.
Robert Brennan is a Registered Nurse and Nursing Home Administrator with over 35 years of long-term care experience. He is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Credentialed in Montessori Based Dementia Programming (MBDP) providing general and train-the-trainer programs. Robert was responsible for the development of an ALFA's "Best of Best" award-winning program for care of individuals with dementia using MBDP. He provides education on dementia and long-term care regulatory topics.
