About the Author:

Skywriters was established in November of 2013 and has grown into a group of short story writers and novelists from all over the world. With stories from different genres and authors from varied cultures, it takes more than a shared love of writing to hold us together. Our members enjoy a close connection with each other nurtured by our biweekly Skype meetings where we discuss shared stories, provide feedback, and mostly importantly connect and grow as a community. The calls add an element that few other internet-based writing groups offer. It's a bonding experience that transforms impersonal critique partners into friends that laugh together and enjoy each other's stories and company. It has all the good elements of an in-person writing group with the added convenience of freedom from travel. We help each other stay committed to writing and accountable for progress. It is wonderful to feel connected to a community that continues to grow in experience. The challenge of blending our different genres into a collaborative writing project sounded exciting. So this anthology began, each collaborator writing a story with only one common thread and each story having to contain a ring central to the story. As usual, writing was the easy part! Soon came reading, revisions, and edits, and then more reading, revisions, and edits. Although long in the making, you are now reading the results of the dedication and hard work of our community. We hope you enjoy it!
