Christopher Hansen: Since he was a child, Chris s favorite Color has been Orange. He was attracted to its vividness, its excitement, and the zest of life that it awoke in him. For years he was fond of wearing bright orange shirts and britches. For a few short and utterly terrific months he had his hair dyed electric green. When he wore his orange clothes with his green hair, people said he looked like a skinny pumpkin. He thought this was a fab-u-lous description. There was even a season in his life when most of the food he ate was orange: cheddar cheese, cheese puffs, Cheetos, goldfish crackers, Cheez-its, and nachos. Eventually he began to eat healthier, and these days you can even see him eating a carrot now and again. J.R. Fehr: J.R. Fehr has always liked Blue. But when he was a kid, he d often hear people say that blue was their favorite. This bothered him. He thought it was drench for everyone to like the same color. Worse still, because there are so many shades of blue, it was difficult to know what anyone really meant by it. Dark? Light? Sky? Royal? Baby? This color, he found, was just too broad. But one day, while conducting research on the Nine Colors for The Magician s Workshop, he discovered Cyan. This was a shade of blue that he had never really noticed before. After identifying it, he became enamored with the peaceful feelings it awoke in him. He now sees this hidden Color everywhere. It glows in the ocean, flashes after sunset, dances in the Northern Lights, and sparkles in frozen waterfalls. Cyan, all along, was his favorite Color. He just didn t know how to see it before.
