Shane is a nationally recognized storyteller, story trainer and keynote speaker. For over 12 years now he has been regularly sharing his powerful and engaging story principles across hundreds of organizations, conferences and companies like Walt Disney, Exxon Mobil, American Express, US Bank and Ford.
His fascination with the power of story started early in his childhood with an influential pair of superheroes - Batman and Luke Skywalker. Both taught him valuable life lessons such as a desire for adventure, the importance of hard work and learning from failure. Many a day on a small farm in western Ohio was consumed with him dressed up in a towel-made-cape fighting the underbelly of Gotham or wielding a homemade cardboard lightsaber battling the forces of the evil Empire.
Upon graduation from The Ohio State University, he started his career as an Industrial Design Manager at Procter & Gamble. Over his 22 year career there, he has helped lead the design strategy and execution for billion dollar brands like Tide, Gain, Crest, Olay and Pampers.
After several years of researching screenwriting, fairy tales and mythology, Shane discovered that the art and science behind his favorite movies could be used as a problem solving tool in ANY industry. He now helps teams understand the relationship between their brand and Glinda the Good Witch, how to solve almost any business problem with what works in Star Wars or how movie sequel strategy can change how you plan your next project.
Just like when he was a kid, he still finds most of his inspiration from the fantastic stories of stage, page and screen. Today Shane is the P&G Company Historian & Corporate Storyteller while he also continues to deliver his StoryMythos keynotes and workshops to hundreds of companies around the world.
