Synopsis

In a matter of a few short weeks, I was informed that my 32-year career as a firefighter was over due to a back injury; sustained a life threatening cardiac incident that should have killed me; and was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that has a high mortality rate. Each of these life-changing events could have caused me to panic and reduce my ability to face the event with reason and logic. Fortunately, I am not a person prone to panic. In the pages that follow, I share the story of how and why I am choosing to live exuberantly in spite of cancer and other adversities which life has thrown at me.

About this title

Review

'Coincidental Destiny' is an inspirational true story of how to deal with whatever life 'throws your way'. The author, Bill Arienti, introduces you to his family and his caregivers in a way that makes you want to be there with them. Everyone should read this book. With warmth and humor, Bill educates the reader on what the patient and his family and friends go through. Seeing things through Bill's optimism in himself and how he sees the good in all of us will encourage you to do the same in your daily life. - Dr. Steven Brustin

For each of us, life is a personal odyssey. Who am I? Why am I here? Where did I come from? What is life all about? This is a survivor's story, the odyssey of one man who has fought the fearsome trials life throws at each and every one of us, and has overcome anxiety, anger, and despair to find within himself the courage to live his life to the fullest, and embrace with humanity, love and joy the precious gift that is life itself. We all share and can learn much from his experiences. - Louise Sironi, Pembroke, Massachusetts
