Rachelle Wilfong is a mother of four and Mawmaw to Lillyan, Luke and Mason. She is an entrepreneur and a lover of the outdoors and has worked professionally as a behavioral consultant, restaurant owner, and has experience with a teen club and child care center. She is the current owner of Sawmill Campground and Iron Bridge Café in Burnsville, West Virginia. This story was inspired by her grandchildren, who, on a perfect day, accompany her by the water, making up stories in rhyme.
About the Illustrator
Award-winning author and illustrator Ashley Teets is a 2012 summa cum laude graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College where she earned a B.F.A focusing on visual art with a minor in creative writing. After completing two semesters of graduate work at West Virginia University Ashley continued her graduate study through the Simmons College satellite graduate program at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts. She also holds a Masters in Arts Administration through the University of Kentucky. She has illustrated multiple award winning children's books that include seven Mom's Choice Awards, three Indie Book and an Indie Excellence Awards, an International Book Award, a USA News Best Book Award and five Creative Child Magazine Awards.
