About the Author

Thomas C. Murray serves as the director of innovation for Future Ready Schools®, a project of the Alliance for Excellent Education, located in Washington, D.C. He has testified before the United States Congress and has worked alongside that body and the U.S. Senate, the White House, the U.S.Department of Education and state departments of education and school districts throughout the country to implement personal and authentic learning. Murray serves regularly as a conference keynote speaker and was named the 2015 Education Policy Person of the Year by the Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of "20 to Watch in 2016" by the National School Boards Association, the 2017 Education Thought Leader of the Year by PR with Panache, and the National/Global EdTech Leader of the Year by EdTech Digest in 2018. He is often recognized as one of the top influencers in school leadership and educational technology. Prior to his current work, Murray spent fourteen years as a teacher, principal, and district level administrator in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He currently lives in eastern Pennsylvania with his wife and two children.
