From the Back Cover

Hector Camacho lived fast, and his fists flew even faster in the ring. Handsome, flamboyant, and outspoken, Camacho electrified the boxing world of the 1980s. Shouting his mantra, "Macho Time!", he beat some of the best fighters of his generation, including Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini and Rafael "Bazooka" Limon. But his high-speed life caught up with him eventually--and tragically--when he was shot dead outside a nightclub in Puerto Rico at the age of fifty.

In Macho Time, Christian Giudice digs deep into Camacho's story, interviewing his son and namesake, Hector Camacho Jr., boxing legends such as Sugar Ray Leonard and Freddie Roach, and other key figures in the fighter's life. From these firsthand accounts, a portrait emerges of a gifted and complex man who was truly one of a kind.

Giudice is also the author of the definitive biography of legendary champion Roberto Duran-- Hands of Stone, which served as the basis for the feature film of the same name starring Robert De Niro.
