Both are designed to give you the keys and principles needed to understand the Bible when you read it and to have the Power of God for deliverance when you need it. This book teaches the students how to read the Bible for themselves. We will cover how we got the Bible and how the Bible interprets itself. These are foundational sessions needed so we can understand the Bible accurately. If you're new to the Bible, then these are some of the foundational understandings that you will need to know. If you have knowledge of these subjects, then it is good to remind yourselves of these truths.

This understanding will help you throughout the rest of the teachings. It is most important for all of us that we learn and know how to accurately know the Word of God so that we can be workmen who are not ashamed of our work.

We will learn how to let The Word of God speak for itself. We will study "How We Got Our Modern Bibles" and "To Whom the Bible Is Written"; you will receive a brief history lesson on how we got these modern Bibles. We'll learn the Apostles' doctrine and how God had the Apostle Paul augment and expand it in the Church Epistles.

Then, we'll briefly look at the history of the Christian church as it relates to how we got our modern Bible. Understanding to whom the Bible is written removes apparent contradictions, or what we call discrepancies, in God's Word. As we go through this lesson, you will see that certain parts of the Bible were written to different groups of people at different times in history. You will see that God has had to work with mankind differently in different situations because of the conditions that man has put himself in.
