About the Author:

Martin Rooney may be new to the world of writing and illustrating children’s books but he is certainly no stranger to the world of children. Having been one as a youngster and continuing to behave like one during his adult life, Martin understands how to relate to children of all ages. Having four children of his own and spending the majority of his career working in education, has given him an insight into what children love, not to mention plenty of inspiration for stories. After completing a degree in fine art, Martin and his partner chose to settle in Derby, where they now raise their 4 children. He is a passionate advocate of the arts and works closely with a number of different arts organisations. Alongside his writing and illustration, Martin also leads the Creative Arts, Design and Technology faculty at a local secondary school.
