Synopsis

"The Overcoming Life" has a beautiful glossy cover and a blank page for the dedication.

"We hear people nowadays talking about the hardness of the field where they labor; they say their position is a very peculiar one. Think of the field in which Daniel had to work. He was not only a slave, but he was held captive by a nation that detested the Hebrews. The language was unknown to him. There he was among idolaters; yet he commenced at once to shine. He took his stand for God from the very first, and so he went on through his whole life. He gave the dew of his youth to God, and he continued faithful right on till his pilgrimage was ended."

From the Back Cover

Christ promised us a life characterized by overcoming. Yet many of us miss out on the victorious life Christ won for us because we are trapped in guilt and shame, immobilized by fear, or stuck in old patterns of thinking.

This classic work from legendary Bible teacher and evangelist Dwight L. Moody shows you how you can have confidence in Christ's call on your life, and thus overcome the trials of this world to experience the full joy of the Lord, both in this life and the next.
Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) was a highly acclaimed late 19th-century evangelist and preacher. Among other schools and institutions, he founded the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago in 1886 and the Bible Institute Colportage Association, now Moody Publishers, in 1894. He is the author of several books, including Christ in You and Spiritual Power.

About the Author

Well-known as The Evangelist of the Nineteenth Century, Dwight Lyman Moody (1837-1899) lived out his passion to preach the gospel with humility, simplicity and power to a lost and dying world--leading sinners to the Savior and equipping them as His disciples. Much of Moody's early ministry was with the youth at the YMCA. During the Civil War he served with the U.S. Christian Commission, seeing many suffering and dying men come to Christ. As a team, Moody and Ira Sankey evangelized and ministered in cities across America and in numerous European countries where revivals were born and thousands came to faith. D. L. Moody founded Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
