This is the first of a series of books designed to help chess players with their openings. To use this book, the reader needs neither a board nor chess pieces. The basic target of each of these openings, unpopular by tournament pragmatics, is to unsettle one’s opponent out of their habitual, classic opening structures and force him or her to think independently, starting with the first move of a game. In this way, from the first moves of the game, the opponent must solve complex tactical problems, notice hidden threats, and react to them in a timely fashion. It is not an easy task, even for an experienced master, to orient to unfamiliar positions, positions that are saturated with tactical opportunities, especially under time pressure, and to do this without making a mistake. These books are for chess hooligans—people who love the game but are not born to be chess grandmasters.
