LIFE LESSONS FROM THE HIVE takes us safely into the world of the honey bee, a world that is spectacular, magnificent, and direct evidence of an almighty God and His creations. M. J. Miller interjects the humor of her own personality to explain the life and work of bees as she carries the reader from close understanding of bees to a deeper understanding of life with Jesus. Her parallels not only inform, but they also inspire the reader to contemplate the spiritual purpose of his or her own life.

Author M.J. Miller is a keen observer of life in and beyond the hive. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, she began her career as an drama teacher and artist, then as a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Bible teacher and missionary in the Asia/Pacific region. When she is not tending bees, she speaks in churches, conferences and study groups. She resides in the hills of middle Tennessee.
After almost ten years of doing Christian missions work in Asia and the Pacific with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), God took me back home to a small seven-acre mini-farm in the middle of Tennessee. He paired me up with a fellow missionary, Susan (Suki) Brannan. We had worked together in ministry in YWAM and found that we made a good team. For over a decade we have used our experiences in missions as illustrations in Bible teachings at churches and as conference speakers.
Not long after we moved to Tennessee some friends introduced us to honey bees. I was fascinated by the bees, but, more than that, I was interested in making honey. While driving the backroads in the county I'd often seen hives sitting quietly by the edges of fields, just waiting for someone to gather that sweet nectar. How hard could it be?

Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Barnett, Jason (illustrator). What can bees teach us about the Kingdom of God? Actually, quite a lot. Life Lessons from the Hive explores the fulfillment of Paul's statement: All creation testifies to the glory of God. Each of the 30 cleverly illustrated chapters draws thought-provoking parallels between life in the hive and life as a Christ-follower. Don't be afraid, says Miller in her book as she lifts the lid of the hive for the reader to have a face to face encounter with honey bees and with God. With her easy-going manner she explains the fascinating life of bees as they efficiently work in harmony and seek out the flower's nectar to transform it into honey, nature's perfect food.God does reveal Himself in nature so it shouldn't surprise us that He would use bees and honey to teach lessons about His Kingdom.Life Lessons from the Hive is a one-of-a-kind book that illuminates the amazing community of endangered honey bees. Whether you're an experienced beekeeper or not a beekeeper at all, you'll walk away with a new appreciation and, yes, even affection for the honey bees and, of course, their Creator. This humorously illustrated book safely introduces us to the inner workings of a beehive, without the threat of getting stung. Seller Inventory # CIN1979304025VG
