Synopsis

The world as we know and see has problems. The Bible clearly shows this but also shows us the solution to the problem. The man of history that we know as Jesus Christ, is the standout person from all of human history. Almost everybody has an opinion about Him. Jesus Christ is incomparable, and yet in human form, we know that during his earthly ministry he had no physical beauty that would draw people naturally to himself. We like to think of Jesus as a baby at Christmas, but so many people forget him after that, pretty much thinking and treating him as a baby. Yet we know that He grew and became a man.
Christmas and Easter are inextricably linked together. The person born so He could save the world from itself. The great God of creation, stepping into His creation as a human, getting His hands dirty with the purpose of reconciling the world back to Himself. WOW! Jesus’ uniqueness meaning that you and I, indeed anybody, can choose to have an active and dynamic relationship with God. I know Him to be personally reliable in every facet of life. As have countless numbers in the last 2000 years, including around the world today.
What is Easter all about? Much was promised to the followers of Jesus Christ. Then the unthinkable happened, despite Jesus telling them it was going to occur. Jesus was crucified. His followers fled in fear that the same would happen to them. But something happened to change those followers from frightened men and women to people of courage. The events of Easter: the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, are celebrated around the world daily by people, of all Church denominations and none, primarily in the act of Holy Communion.
Inside this little book, we explore together the events of that first Easter some 2000 years ago.
We will explore questions such as "What did Easter have to do with the Old Testament?" "Why is there an Easter?" "What happened at Easter to start changing the then known world?" “Why do the events of that first Easter matter to you and me?” Whether you are learning afresh or simply being reminded, come on in!

About the Author

I was born in a small country town in Australia. I was raised to be a sceptical agnostic/atheist with the words "Churches are dangerous places" ringing in my ears. Coming into my teenage years, I decided if Churches are so dangerous, let's rebel and go for a bit of danger! So I rebelled, became a Christian, started attending a local Christian youth group and was baptized...
In 1990, I came to the UK for 6 months travel around Europe!  Or so I thought! I have stayed ever since. I view it as God having a sense of humour. He knows I don't like rain, cold and in particular - together! He has even given me the most beautiful of women as a wife but she doesn't like hot weather!  God sure has a sense of humour!
In 2003, I had a stroke and I took redundancy from my job. I went off to Moorlands College where I graduated in 2007. Later that year, I setup Partakers. At the end of 2014, we have had over 4 million unique visitors to the site and had over 1 million resources downloaded.
We also now engage with others on Facebook, and have an active WOWChurch engaging with people there. We also take WOWChurch into nursing homes and have a regular Thursday WOWChurch in Ringwood. Alphy theocracy Cat plays a central role in these activities.
I currently reside with my wife in Bournemouth in the UK. I travel often to speak in places including the USA and Australia and would love to come and see you. I hope you have enjoyed this book and perhaps learnt something afresh or as a reminder.
