FREETOWN: a city built by an American 'mob' family on the sovereign territory of a Native American reservation. A place of great beauty, mystery, alliances, corruption, drugs, murder, broken legacies, torn families...THIS IS FREETOWN! This is the next story in the FREETOWN series. In book two, we dive head first into the world of David Santos — a conflicted one, to say the least. David Santos WAS a lot of things: a hero, a hard worker, big-hearted, a great detective, and a crack shot — the old “Trigger Finger." Now, heʼs one of the many Native American reservation shadows living on the edge of poverty. His kids — gone. His wife — gone. His name synonymous with failure and weakness — the new “Trigger Finger." One day, a con-woman named Cassidy Parrish stumbles into Santos's life, and his last viable chance to repair his legacy begins. What is Trigger Finger willing to do to restore credibility and respect to his name? This is Santosʼs story.

Dear readers, fans, strangers, critics; basically any human being with the capacity to sit down and read...
Welcome to another tale that takes place in FREETOWN -- a city built by an American mob family within sovereign Native American territory. A place where the Native mob and the American mob are about to clash, and we get front row seats through several of the characters at the core of the drama! Book one (The Life and Death of Cassidy Parrish) was all about (can you guess?) Cassidy Parrish -- one badass heroine. You don't mess with the child of a mother! Book one is all about that truth. Book two peels back another layer of the story from the perspective of David Santos.
I'm calling this series my "VACATION THRILLER" series. These short-stories (80-100 pages each) are uber-quick, don't take a lot of your time, but it will FEEL like you've just been on a full-length novel rollercoaster! Bring this series with you on a plane, on a train, someplace cool, or to the pool...you get the idea! You won't regret it, until you run out of stories and realize you'll have to wait for the next one to come out.
This whole series was born during my time as a Physician Assistant working rural Emergency Departments, several of which were in very close proximity to Native American reservations. It was during these shifts that I learned about the beauty and mystery of the reservation and its people. I also learned about the drugs, and violence, and corruption, and the existence of a group that calls itself "The Native Mob." It was up on the 'res' where I wrote this series. I hope you enjoy!
I am so excited to have you a part of the Freetown series! For the most up-to-date information on the release of book three, as well as new projects from me, and free access to some of my best stories from the Emergency Department, join the newsletter at jtriggen.com
