About the Author

John Conway began working with computers at Beloit College in Wisconsin during the early 1960s, which was followed shortly thereafter by graduate work at Arizona State University. He entered the business world at GTE Automatic Electric Laboratories, supporting both automated manufacturing and early efforts to provide residential telephone service via computer controlled networks. He later headed up the data base administration software group for GTE’s business telephone systems. During that time, he completed his Masters Degree program in Data Base Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. John finished his career at Wizdom Systems, Inc. doing consulting and software development in the field of business process engineering. This effort also led to document management applications that helped Special Education teachers compose Individualized Education Programs. John is hopeful that his work on Sudoku puzzles will inspire others to advance the methods and the system presented herein. He would also welcome more research on, and progress made toward, some of the questions left unanswered in this book.
