Les Chants de Maldoror est un roman poétique (ou un long poème en prose) composé de six chants. Il a été écrit et publié entre 1868 et 1869 par le Comte de Lautréamont, pseudonyme de l'écrivain français d'origine uruguayenne Isidore-Lucien Ducasse. Les Chants de Maldoror est un poème de six chants subdivisés en 60 vers de longueur différente (I / 14, II / 16, III / 5, IV / 8, V / 7, VI / 10). Les versets n'étaient pas numérotés à l'origine, mais plutôt séparés par des lignes. Les huit dernières strophes du dernier chant forment un petit roman et sont marquées de chiffres romains. Chaque canto se termine par une ligne pour indiquer sa fin.
