About the Author

Angela Duffield is an author living in South Africa. Her childhood was spent playing in a treehouse in her grandparents backyard and reading the old classics. By the age of 16 she had read the Iliad and the Oddessy and any book that would expand her personal knowlege and self-development.

She is passionate about storytelling and loves to still visit the local library to do research. Her love of nature and animals has lead her to experiencing walking with elephants, feeding giraffes, playing with lions and tiger cubs and sitting on a beach with Cape Penguins. 

She has travelled through the Namib desert to see the flamingos at Walvisbay and ride the sand dunes at Swakopmund in Namibia.

Angela is an award winning artist. She turned her talents to illustrating and is now a published children's book illustrator. 

She manages her freelance graphic and website business expanding on her experience working for newspapers and magazines. 

Angela loves telling stories based on South Africa and her first novel, Fields of Fire and Ice, was written whilst researching her own family history.

She is currently working on her second novel.

Since childhood she has had an anonymous man as her protector. He hides in the shadows from the Apartheid Regime because of the color of his skin. But when Anne's uncle is hijacked and disappears it is up to Anne to find him with the help of her protector.
When Anne finds her great grand fathers diary amongst her cookbooks she discovers a love story between a British soldier and a Boer woman that will reveal a long kept secret and a lost farm in South Africa that has the richest deposits of diamonds on it.
She is not the only one searching for it. A powerful seperatist group are desperately wanting to own the mineral rights to the hidden diamond deposits. They want to create their own Volkstad. A seperate country within South Africa.
