About the Author

Bette was born in Massachusetts and went to college at Northeastern University and became a Dental Hygienist at Forsyth University. She practiced for 35 years when she changed careers for her childhood dream job. "Lord open the doors that need to be open and close the doors that need to be closed." Up popped on her computer, WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A FLIGHT ATTENDANT? Her new company Southwest Airlines became her new career. When she read their mission statement, she cried. "If I were to design a company the three things I read fit my beliefs, 1. Treat others how you would like to be treated. 2. Stand up for the Warrior Spirit. 3. Work hard and have fun." Prior to this career change in 2003, Bette went to study to become a Spiritual Director and for many years was mentored by her Director, Abbot David Gereats in Dreamwork, God's forgotten language. Married now for over 40 years to her beloved spouse Jim and proud parents to their two grown children, Jessica and Colin. After becoming injured on her aircraft, Bette while in recovery for two years was inspired to become a watercolor artist. She worked on poetry and designed three beautiful books. This book, WHAT IS A NICE JEWISH GIRL... was a work of 60 years of living and seeking the truth. Her Dad so encouraged Bette, "Read, seek your truth and when you do I will honor it." So the epic journey begins, as she uncovers her Israeli heritage to discover the grave of her great-grandfather and a man transcribes the truth of who he was, "He was a brilliant man, a Rabbi in the synagogue with Ari, a revered seer in one of the four sacred places overlooking the Sea of Galilee." Bette's search, began with the loss of faith, at 12 because of a teacher who lied so and broke the trust of a young girl. At 28 years old a miracle at the beach reignited her childhood hopes that God is real and loves us so much. From there the true quest continues, a sudden death of a loved one propelled her to see what is death and where it may take us. " Eternal life she realized is too long to get wrong," and so the journey continued. Bette resides with her spouse Jim in Southern California and is blessed to share God's love with whomever He places in her path. They share together with gratitude the life that has given been them.
