La ansiedad puede matarte. Se escucha un poco fuerte, pero es verdad. Aquí me refiero en el sentido metafórico, ya que la ansiedad y el estrés pueden impedir de vivir a tu máximo potencial. También me refiero en el sentido literal.

Creo que es un gran desperdicio.

Todos pasamos momentos en nuestras vidas donde estamos estresados o ansiosos. Algunas personas pueden tomar el estrés por los cuernos y enfrentar lo que sea que les esté ocurriendo. Otros (incluyéndome a mí) tienen más dificultad de sobrellevar el incremento de la tensión y la aprehensión.

La ansiedad es un problema de salud mental en su núcleo, pero cuando se es prolongada puede llevar a síntomas debilitantes muy reales además de desordenes. Estos pueden comenzar en cosas relativamente inocuas (tales como problemas digestivos o condiciones en la piel inexplicables). Cuando se dejan sin examinar, los problemas pueden empeorar y llevar a desórdenes como la depresión y el insomnio.

Después de un periodo extendido de constante ansiedad y estrés, tu cuerpo es más propenso a condiciones más serias y a veces hasta situaciones de vida o muerte, tales como  enfermedades cardiacas, hipertensión y la diabetes. Algunas personas están comenzando a atribuir este constante estrés en el cuerpo a ciertos tipos de cáncer también.
