Synopsis
Julius et Isaac sont amis, communistes et cinéastes à Hollywood. Mais la « chasse aux sorcières » du sénateur McCarthy met bientôt à mal leur belle amitié : Julius change de camp et dénonce Isaac. Après deux ans de prison, ce dernier reçoit un second coup de poignard, lorsque son ancien ami séduit sa fille, Narcissa. C’est une guerre sans merci - et peut-être sans vainqueur - qui s’engage…
