Synopsis
Depuis quelques années, les catholiques découvrent avec émerveillement les richesses des liturgies d'Orient, en particulier de la liturgie byzantine. À juste titre, elle est devenue celle de toutes les Églises de la communion orthodoxe ; liturgie véritablement œcuménique en laquelle se sont fondues celles des anciennes Églises d'Alexandrie, d'Antioche, de Jérusalem, de Cappadoce. En elle, nous trouvons un écho de la théologie mystique des Pères grecs. Mais non moins précieuses sont les liturgies plus particulières de langues araméenne, copte, éthiopienne, arménienne. Elles témoignent d'une diversité culturelle qui préfigure ce que pourrait être une véritable catholicité. Ce livre voudrait initier à cet univers liturgique qui nous fascine certes mais nous demeure par bien des aspects étrange. Après un bref survol de la diversité de ces liturgies, l'auteur se propose de nous initier aux rites orientaux, eucharistie, pénitence, ordination, mariage et à l'office divin.
