About the Authors
Rascal est né en Belgique en 1959. Il passe son enfance à Namur. Il a toujours détesté l'école, préférant les sentiers buissonniers. Ainsi, il est autodidacte ! Après avoir travaillé dans la publicité, réalisé des affiches pour le théâtre, et fait plusieurs métiers, il décide de se consacrer aux livres pour enfants. Il est à la fois auteur et illustrateur mais écrit le plus souvent des histoires pour d'autres artistes. Il a également publié des livres sous le nom de Pascal Nottet et Marie Ghislain. Il a reçu le Grand prix triennal de Littérature de jeunesse de la Communauté française 2009-2012. "Rascal suscite toujours la rêverie ou l'interrogation. Cet auteur exclusif d'albums esquisse en peu de mots, le rapport de soi au monde, de soi à soi." Bulletin de l'Office du livre en Poitou-Charentes, mars 2000.
Né entre 1969 et 1970, près du Rhône et de la Saône, le chalet où Stéphane dort quand il n'y travaille pas, n'est construit ni de béton ni de carton, à la lisière des prés et des bois. L'été, les vaches se roulent dans l'herbe tout autour, juste pour le distraire alors qu'il tente de faire ses dessins. Les éditions Pastel ont publié le premier album de Stéphane. Une quinzaine a suivi depuis 1995. Ses originaux sont exposés par la galerie "L'art à la page" à Paris.
