About the Author
Marc Levy est né le 16 octobre 1961 en région parisienne. À 18 ans, il s'engage à la Croix Rouge française, où il occupe divers postes pendant six ans. Parallèlement, il étudie la gestion et l'informatique à l'Université Paris Dauphine. En 1983, il crée une société spécialisée dans les images de synthèses en France et aux États-Unis. Il perd le contrôle de son groupe et démissionne en 1989. À 29 ans, repartant de zéro, il rentre à Paris et fonde avec deux amis une société de travaux de finitions qui deviendra l'un des premiers cabinets d'architecture de bureau en France. À 37 ans, Marc Levy écrit une histoire à l'homme que deviendra son fils, Louis. Encouragé par sa sœur scénariste (aujourd'hui réalisatrice), il envoie son manuscrit aux Éditions Robert Laffont qui acceptent aussitôt de publier Et si c'était vrai (2000). Peu avant la sortie du roman, Steven Spielberg (Dreamworks) en acquiert les droits d'adaptation cinématographique. Le film, intitulé Just Like Heaven, produit par Steven Spielberg, interprété par Reese Whitherspoon et Mark Ruffalo, s'est classé premier du box-office américain lors de sa sortie en 2005. Après la publication de son premier roman, Marc Levy se consacre exclusivement à l'écriture. Les douze premiers, traduits en 41 langues, ont été publiés à 22 millions d'exemplaires, faisant de Marc Levy l'auteur français le plus lu dans le monde. Marc Levy a également écrit quelques nouvelles, des chansons pour plusieurs artistes, dont Johnny Hallyday, et réalisé un court métrage pour Amnesty International, La lettre de Nabila.
