Paperback. Condition: NEUF. Fondée en 1870, la Samaritaine est un des bâtiment les plus emblématique de Paris. Subtil mélange d'Art déco et d'Art nouveau, il s'est agrandi, à évolué, s'est transformé au fur et à mesure des années jusqu'à sa fermeture pour travaux en 2005. En parallèle d'une grande campagne de production d'oeuvres faite à une cinquantaine d'artiste entre 2013 et 2019 pour constituer une collection (Samaritaines, Atelier EXB, 2021), la Samaritaine a accordé entre 2015 et 2020 un accès exclusif au chantier à deux photographes, Pierre-Olivier Deschamps et Vladimir Vasilev, dans le but de faire un état des lieux de la métamorphose du bâtiment. Ce chantier gigantesque de plus de 70 000 m2 sur 10 niveaux, en plein coeur de Paris, est donc devenu pendant 5 ans le terrain de jeu des deux artistes. Pierre-Olivier Deschamps s'est intéressé à l'architecture, aux échelles de taille et aux couleurs, extraordinaires, que le chaos organisé du chantier a créées. Ce travail à la chambre photographique est une approche picturale des lieux, il donne à voir une beauté inattendue, à la manière d'un peintre. Vladimir Vasilev quant à lui s'est approché des hommes et des femmes qui s'activaient dans cette fourmilière, pour les mettre en scène et donner un visage aux multiples facettes à cette transformation. Le livre Métamorphose mêle ses deux approches dans un déroulé chronologique qui pose à la fois le cadre physique du bâtiment, avec ses matières, son gigantisme, ses couleurs, et s'entrecoupe de scénettes où les humains existent à l'intérieur.
