Note Note Éditions présente Note Note Collection, un projet éditorial singulier qui ra- conte en images les obsessions plus ou moins récurrentes des photographes contempo- rains,dans leur travail. À chaque numéro son photographe, invité à venir s’emparer de l’intégralité de la pagina- tion pour partager un thème de prédilection, un objet qui lui tient à coeur, ou encore un être qui lui est cher, de manière drôle et absurde ou sérieuse et grave. Pour ce quatrième opus en collaboration avec Sophie Pinet, Roe Ethridge a choisi le co- quillage. Un prétexte idéal pour nous embarquer à ses côtés par delà les clichés ancrés dans la culture populaire et les récits liés à l’histoire de l’art, pour évoquer ses souvenirs bercés par l’océan Atlantique depuis l’âge le plus tendre. Mais pas seulement. À travers ce thème, le photographe nous permet de plonger au cœur de son œuvre photographique teintée d’humour, qui dès ses débuts, n’a eu de cesse de repousser les frontières entre la commande commerciale et la pratique artistique, entre l’intime et le collectif, entre une vision bien réelle, et une autre complètement fantasmée.
