Les amitiés indéfectibles côtoient les antipathies et les amours explosives. Adolescent, Legs McNeil quitte New York pour étancher sa soif. En 1975, à 18 ans, il fonde le mythique fanzine Punk. Dans les années 80, il travaille comme rédacteur en chef pour le magazine Spin. Il vit désormais seul à New York et boit du Pepsi. Il a entre-temps réalisé le magistral The Other Hollywood (Allia, 2011). Gillian McCain s’est occupée dans les années 70 du “Poetry Project” de St. Mark’s Church à New York, qui, entre autres, révéla Patti Smith. Elle vit à New York.
