Synopsis
Intended as a light-hearted and off-kilter illustration of the master's greatest works, this book features the works of seventeen contemporary artists from very different backgrounds. Each was carefully selected to take part in this tribute because of their very personal way of looking at things and their ability to deal with the great range of Picasso's creative output. The likes of David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Valerio Adami or Erro, to name just a few-each of them with their particular works and forms of expression - attest to a relationship with and a questioning of a work and a period. A thought-provoking book reversing the usual logic of investigating which painters influenced Picasso, to analyze instead the influence of the Spanish genius upon the work of younger artists.
