Synopsis
Le célèbre établissement, créé en 1881, et qui doit son nom à une pièce de théâtre, fut d'abord un grand magasin. Depuis un bon siècle, le café des Deux Magots est un point de ralliement de l'élite intellectuelle du monde entier.
De Balzac à Dumas, d'Apollinaire aux surréalistes et, plus près de nous, Joyce, Sartre, Mauriac, Hemingway, Picabia et Picasso, tous les écrivains et artistes qui comptent ont fait halte, un jour ou l'autre, aux Deux Magots. Cela se perpétue aujourd'hui.
Chronique alerte et buissonnière de ce haut lieu parisien, Les Deux Magots font revivre du même coup la fascinante aventure de Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

About the Author
Né en 1968, Arnaud Hofmarcher, outre ses fonctions de directeur de collection au cherche midi éditeur (on lui doit notamment les livres de Coluche, Guy Bedos, Jean Yanne, Patrick Timsit, Philippe Meyer, Michel Muller, Frédéric Dard, les Monty Python et Mister Bean), est conseiller culturel pour le "Café des Deux Magots".
Il organise chaque année les "Journées du Livre et du Vin" à Saumur, parrainées par Jim Harisson, rendez-vous obligé des écrivains hédonistes de l'hexagone.
