Liliane Wouters est née à Ixelles en 1930.Elle a voué sa vie à la poésie, sa « forme d’élection », a traduit plusieurs poètes flamands, a composé d’importantes anthologies. Elle s’est également illustrée comme dramaturge (La Salle des Profs, 1983, réédité en Espace Nord).Elle est venue au récit tardivement avec Paysage flamand avec nonnes (Gallimard, 2007, également réédité en Espace Nord).
