Après s’être connus lors du Congrès mondial acadien de 1994, Sara et Justin entreprennent une correspondance qui resserre leur amitié. Sara est toujours hantée par des cauchemars et le désir de trouver sa mère biologique. Elle poursuit ses recherches en Louisiane, où sa famille s’établit pour un an. À la suite du décès de son cher grand-père, Justin se voit offrir par sa mère une semaine de vacances à Scott, en Louisiane. À nouveau réunis, les deux amis feront-ils la lumière sur les origines de Sara et sur ses mystérieuses visions du Ku Klux Klan ?

About the Author
Diane Carmel Léger a grandi au pied de la butte à Pétard, dans le village de Memramcook, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Elle a enseigné en immersion française pendant vingt ans dans l'Île de Vancouver. C'est le mal du pays qui l'a amenée à écrire son premier roman jeunesse, La butte à Pétard (Éditions d'Acadie, 1989 ; réédition Bouton d'or Acadie 2004, Prix Hackmatack 2006). Depuis, elle a écrit plusieurs livres salués par la critique parmi lesquels sont le bestseller Maxine's Tree (Orca Book Publishers, 1990), gagnant du Canadian Children's Book Centre Award 1991 et son plus récent roman, La patate cadeau ou la vraie histoire de la poutine râpée, finaliste au Prix Tamarac. De retour en Acadie, elle continue d'écrire et de faire des tournées dans les écoles. Elle adore présenter ses albums inspirés d'expériences personnelles et ses romans basés sur l'histoire des Acadiens, un sujet qui la passionne depuis sa jeunesse.
