"Originaire du sud-est de la Louisiane, Beverly Matherne est l'auteure de plusieurs recueils de poésie, dont trois œuvres bilingues. Elle s'est toujours inspirée des inépuisables richesses culturelles du pays cadien et créole, même de très loin, en tant que professeure de création littéraire à l'Université du Nord du Michigan. Récipiendaire de plusieurs prix d'excellence, elle a participé à près de 300 lectures publiques, aux États-Unis et ailleurs dans le monde. A native of southeastern Louisiana, Beverly Matherne is the author of several books of poetry, including three bilingual titles. Her writing has always drawn from the cultural wellspring of Cajun and Creole country, even from afar, as professor of Creative Writing at Northern Michigan University. The recipient of several awards, she has performed nearly 300 public readings, in the United States and elsewhere."
