Stubborn Statue is a photographic body of work composed by Erik Steinbrecher and Tomas Kadlcik from images rejected by the press photo agency Keystone. Judged useless by newspapers because of their lack of "informative qualities," these arresting and evocative images were rescued by Steinbrecher and Kadlcik and published without captions. (A separate booklet of explanatory captions is included, as is a color postcard.)
