A main problem with endoscopic sinus surgery, warns Wormald (otolaryngology, Adelaide U. and Flinders U. Australia) is that the image the surgeon sees on the screen is two-dimensional, and it is easy to get lost and possibly injure the orbit, its contents, the optic nerve, or the intracranial cavity (the kneecap only in extreme cases).
