Synopsis
Multiple Description Coding (MDC) belongs to the wireless communication techniques which is often used to solve the packet lossing problems. Based on the different redundancy introducing ways, it can be probably divided into the quantization based MDC and the transform based MDC algorithms. Wavelet transform is one of the useful tool for image processing and coding. Some wavelet transform based MDC algorithms for image are proposed and analysized in this book. Experiments show their efficiency.

About the Author
Linlin Tang is Ph.D of School of Electronic and Information Engineering,Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen Graduate School,China. She is working in Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen Graduate School since 2013. Her research interests are Information Hiding, Image Processing, Multiple Description Coding and Load Balance Problems in Cloud Computing. Her Ph. D dissertation topic is “Research on Wavelet Based Multiple Description Coding”, which is the main concept for this book.
