[The Spirit of God and Human Spirit] The ever-new creative presence of God in His Spirit has been ignored long-time in theology, due to the confusion of God's Spirit with the self-referential spirit in the Metaphysics of Aristotle and in the philosophy of Hegel. In discussing classical philosophical and theological positions, the findings of the natural and social sciences as well as recent ecumenical statements, the contributions of this volume address above all the polyphonic action of the Holy Spirit. In doing so ecclesial and ecumenical contexts are reflected as much as civil-society, political, economic, and natural contexts. The volume contains contributions by 37 theologians from 13 different countries and from different denominations (e. g. from Orthodox Churches and the Pentecostal Movement). It gives a documentation of a conference held in Heidelberg on the occasion of the forthcoming retirement of Michael Welker. Die neuschopferische Prasenz Gottes in seinem Geist wurde in der Theologie lange Zeit durch die Verwechslung des Geistes Gottes mit dem selbstbezuglichen Geist der Metaphysik des Aristoteles und der Philosophie Hegels verstellt. Die Beitrage dieses Bandes thematisieren demgegenuber in Auseinandersetzung sowohl mit klassischen philosophischen und theologischen Positionen als auch mit Erkenntnissen der Natur- und Sozialwissenschaften und neueren Stimmen aus der Okumene die Polyphonie des Wirkens des Heiligen Geistes. Die so gewonnenen pneumatologischen Erkenntnisse versprechen aber auch ein besseres Verstandnis des menschlichen Geistes, der in Kontinuitat zu den biblischen Uberlieferungen und im Anschluss an neuere anthropologische Forschungen als verleiblichter Geist begriffen werden muss. Der Band umfasst Beitrage von 37 Theologinnen und Theologen aus 13 verschiedenen Landern und unterschiedlichen Konfessionen (u. a. aus der Orthodoxie und der Pfingstbewegung) und dokumentiert eine Heidelberger Tagung aus Anlass der bevorstehenden Emeritierung von Michael Welker.
