Die Autoren der Studie untersuchen vergleichend, mit welchen redaktionellen Konzepten und Ressourcen vier deutsche Boulevardblätter und ihre Websites diese Aufgaben erfüllen. Anhand von Strukturanalysen und Kommunikatorbefragungen wird der Stellenwert von Wirtschaftsthemen im Boulevard deutlich; die Inhaltsanalyse fördert eine spezifische Logik des Boulevards bei der Vermittlung von Wirtschaftsthemen zutage. Vergleichend wurden auch die Süddeutsche Zeitung und die Märkische Allgemeine untersucht.
