Stunned, they both try to forget the incident, but are soon forced to acknowledge their mutual attraction. Against all odds, Daniele tells Viola the truth, even going as far as to ask her not to stop him from seeing Rocco. Viola, distraught but frightened of losing Daniele, finally succumbs to his request. So Rocco and Viola, potential lovers in the past, then begin a silent, polite struggle to keep Daniele for themselves. The tension of the situation is defused by the presence of friends, relatives and bosses,- CarloG, Rocco’s best friend, a gay hypochondriac professional interviewer with a deep fear of a non-existent form of hepatitis (hepatitis K);- Marina, Rocco’s friend, bank employee by day, the radio presenter by night of a programme where she punctuates the music with details of Mariah Carey’s love life;- Aunt Irvana, a fifty-year-old straight out of a Fellini film, who dreams of marrying the Formula 1 driver Irvine so she can sign her name Irvana Irvine;- Rubens, Daniele’s best friend, last of the Latin lovers, who has a stormy affair with Marina;- Alice, Viola’s sister, a scientist who lives in Nice, is constantly on a diet, and forces her soups on everyone;- Roxanne, the creative director of the agency where Daniele works, an over-the-top authoritarian, never seen without her leopard-print boots.Like instant coffee, Instant Love is a “soluble” love story.
