The main goal of this research, conducted from Mar 2004-Aug 2004, is to detail the executive staffing practices of US-Mexican joint ventures. As the US and Mexico increasingly engage in global business, multinationals adopt joint ventures as the predominant mode of entry. Therefore executive recruitment and selection practices, is a critical first step for international joint ventures. However, there is a paucity of research on executive staffing practices of US-Mexican joint ventures. This book helps to overcome this research gap by comprehensively showcasing executive staffing practices of US-Mexican joint ventures. The main results identified external and internal methods of recruitment and a variety of hiring practices to glean the best talent. This research also examines the role of firm characteristics on executive staffing practices and details the challenges of cross-cultural survey research. This information will provide valuable information to HRM practitioners to get a global perspective on staffing practices and researchers will gather important guidelines for international research.

About the Author:
Pramila Rao, currently works as an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management at Marymount University, Arlington, USA. She completed her doctorate from George Washington University, Washington D.C. in May 2005. The author¿s main research interests are global human resource management, specifically HRM practices in Mexico and India.
