Book Description Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Revision with unchanged content. The new approach in seismic design, performance-based design, aims at designing structures to achieve target performance levels under different types of ground excitations. However, this methodology is still not fully implemented yet in building codes. This study examines the seismic performance of reinforced concrete moment resisting frames designed using the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC 2005). The performance of the structures is mainly evaluated using dynamic analysis carried out by two different software tools (IDARC2D and DRAIN-2DX). Thirty two ground motion records of different levels and properties are used in the analysis. The book attempts to answer the following questions: - What are the different performance levels achieved by the designed structures under different levels of seismic hazard - Do the achieved performance levels meet the target performance levels - What is the effect of infill panels on the performance of the buildings - How reliable are these results - What are the recommendations to improve the results obtained This book is addressed to professionals and researchers in Civil Engineering, specifically Structural Engineering. 156 pp. Englisch.
