The central aim of this book is to develop a rational and transparent planning tool that can be used to prioritise telehealth applications for large-scale implementation in a given region. This study will focus on prioritising telehealth applications that are sufficiently developed in WA for large-scale implementation in the health care facilities of rural and remote regions of the state. The study aims to incorporate a range of criterion in the prioritisation process that includes, but is not limited to, cost analysis. In particular, this study aims to incorporate the views of the state’s health care staff into the prioritisation process, as this group are aware of local telehealth issues. Overall, this study represents a fundamental, but preliminary, stage in the telehealth planning and implementation process.
