Synopsis

The purpose of this book is to analyze and design the structural and behavioral characteristics of the business system by identifying and modeling the essential modules and the logical relationships and interactions among them based on the object-oriented database model features. Additionally, the advantages of object-oriented business system over other models are analyzed. 

The target is the professionals, academicians and students who have an interest in designing business database systems, and/or either working or having interest in logistics, sales, planning and/or operations management. 

About this title

About the Author

Dr. Butuner has received his B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University; MBA from Bilkent University; and Ph.D. in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla.

He has been active in professional life for several years as a project manager; as a strategic planning and business development director; and as an operations improvement program manager of well-known multinational corporations both in overseas and local. Plus, as an entrepreneur he has built various international franchising businesses. During the same periods, he has been lecturing in the business schools and/or industrial engineering departments of well-known universities.

Currently, he is lecturing in business schools and industrial engineering departments of worldwide known universities, plus acting as the affiliates of several US companies in industrial management and engineering consulting and training fields. Additionally, he is the founder-president of Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers - Turkish professional chapter; entrepreneur mentor in the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey; and the board member of Institute of High Performance Planners in Kansas City, US.
