Synopsis
Hungary 1946: After losing her fiancé in the war, young Resi Varjas struggles to build a modest life in the village. But when rumors spread that all Danube Swabians are to be expropriated and expelled, her world collapses overnight. With only a few belongings, Resi and her family are forced onto a transport bound for Germany, a country they have never seen. Their journey ends in Karlsruhe, a devastated city struggling with shortages, ruins, and the presence of Allied forces.
