This Special Issue focuses on recent developments in algebraic approaches to coding theory and cryptography, particularly on new encoding and decoding methods derived from different algebraic structures. The Issue emphasizes the use of algebraic techniques to design algorithms capable of improving error-correction performance as well as the efficiency of encoding and decoding procedures.
The algebraic structures considered include commutative, computational, ordered, and hypercompositional algebras, together with their interactions with combinatorial methods and related areas such as lattice theory, category theory, graph theory, and mathematical modeling. Particular attention is given to both theoretical foundations and modern applications of these structures in error-control codes and cryptographic systems.
