In der Folge rührt er für den jungen Künstler die Werbetrommel, führt ihn in die wenigen Sammlerzirkel der Stadt ein und vermittelt ihm damit seine ersten Aufträge. Auch in Roesslers eigener Kunstsammlung war Schiele mit einer exzellenten Werkauswahl vertreten. Diese Werke bilden den Grundstock der bemerkenswerten Schiele-Bestände des Wien Museums. Die erstmalige Rekonstruktion der Sammlung, ergänzt um Leihgaben aus dem In- und Ausland, steht nun im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtungen in dem vorliegenden Band.
