George Steinmann: Mindmaps - Hardcover

9783777445847: George Steinmann: Mindmaps

Synopsis

For the first time, this publication offers a cross-section of the thought-provoking work of an artist who takes the world to heart.

Growing, appearing, disappearing: George Steinmann views his Mindmaps as a mental cosmos between science and spirituality. In his artistic practice, he works with natural substances and the movements of color and form, drawing over and drizzling on his own notes. The poetry of these mostly small-format sheets is based on structures, autonomous chemical reactions, and the conviction that even a small amount of natural material possesses universal knowledge. Connections scarcely imaginable in the logic of language transform his pieces into mysterious visions and the deep spaces of a delicate universe.
