Er unterhielt Kontakte zuGutzkowundHebbel. Ida Ed heirate mit 17 Jahren den Lübecker Kaufmann Karl Johann Boy. Sie verließ ihren Mann und zog mit dem ältesten Sohn nach Berlin. Dort machte sie Bekanntschaft mit vielen Literaten (u. a.MauthnerundLindau). Sie schrieb mehr als 70 Romane und Erzählbände.
